Pak Hailam Kopitiam

food review time!
King's recently opened its very first kopitiam in kepong.
King's is a huge bakery with many chain outlets all around. I'm sure most people know about this. i practically grew up with Kings. hehe. their pandan layer cake is really good! and every year, near the mooncake festival, they will have a special 50% sale in their factory which is in kepong also.

PAK HAILAM KOPITIAM
55, LORONG BANGAU 2
KEPONG BARU
52100 KUALA LUMPUR
TEL:0126128018
opening hours:
sun-thurs 7.30am to 12am
friday, sat & eve of public holiday 7.30am to 2am

the deco is classic with a modern twist.with marble topped tables and all. lots of wood elements to give it that comfy feel. it actually has two floors but we sat on the ground floor cos it was difficult for my grandma to climb up and down.

the top floor has an "atap" roof. how quaint!

their menu consists of typical "kopitiam" food. ranging from toast bread with kaya, butter, peanut butter, or accompanied with a half boil egg, to more filling dishes like nasi lemak, noodles and chicken chops..and the drinks, they have quite interesting drinks. more later ^^

this is the passionfruit mint drink. very refreshing. its sour and sweet and bubbly (i think they added some carbonated drink) but hmmm..how does passionfruit taste like anyway? its served with a wedge of lime and mint leaves. really good! never tasted anything like this before! its rm5.90 (quite pricey, but nevermind=p) they also have peach mint.

the hot chocolate. (rm3.50) i didn't really like it. too milky and watery. the one in Daiki cafe is much nicer.

and now, for the food!

granny ordered the fried mihun with curry chicken. very normal. the chicken curry was OK.

this is the nasi lemak sotong (rm6.90) not a big fan of sotong so i won't comment. the sambal. was really really hot. but very addictive. my mouth was on fire! LOL. the rice is nice and fragrant. not thinking of how much santan they put inside!

the nasi lemak with curry chicken

the hailam mee (rm5.50) this is not bad. of course cannot compare to the one in klang.but its worth trying :)

service is good and fast, the people there are friendly and efficient.

overall rating...7/10

and i would go there another time, maybe to try the toast and the hailam chicken chop
