ben and nick diner

I'm back! finally! more about the Horrid exam later (I'll rant to my heart's content)
but I've been itching to do food reviews!

read about this quaint little diner very very near my house in the newspaper. Plus a friend recommended it.
i got the chance to try it with James last two weeks after watching 27 dresses and hanging out at pyramid.

it is a very small place, with most of the seats outside (al fresco dining!)
its really cosy and quaint with many trinkets which apparently the owner bought from her travels around the world :O

cute little sign. love the deco!

for drinks, we ordered mango juice and lemonade. the mango juice was rather ordinary. the lemonade was pretty good. refreshing and not too sour. i think its RM3.90 per glass

for starters..the cream of mushroom soup! (RM6.90) i was actually expecting something really good. but hmmm....it was ok only. not great. but i could tell that they used authentic ingredients. a bit low on taste though. its served with three slices of garlic cheese bread. which was nice and crispy with a thin layer of melted cheese

the main course. we ordered the seafood marina spaghetti (rm23.90)to share. it has a tomato based sauce and it is generously topped up with large prawns, mussels and la-la. at first it tasted quite ordinary but the more you eat, the it gets more delicious, the flavours start appearing. plus the prawns were fresh and the sauce was really good. and again its quite obvious they used high quality ingredients to prepare this dish.

and for snacks,we ordered buffalo wings. it was nice, well marinated and spicy enough.

they also have other light snacks and Lamb shank( their speciality) other pasta dishes and some interesting deserts, which we unfortunately had no more stomach space to sample.

service...hmmm...kinda slow cos their kitchen was really small and they had only one chef, i think. and its a family business and they are all really nice and friendly. but i can say the food is worth the wait. nice, comfy and even romantic ambiance. prices are abit steep, but its ok to go once awhile as a treat.

do give this place a try. its a Little diner...but big on taste =)

overall rating..i would give a 7 out of 10
