lunch with the girls @ sushi groove sunway pyramid

another food review in another japanese food oulet in sunway pyramid
SUSHI GROOVE is located at the new wing of sunway pyramid, opposite JCO donuts. since no one has tried this place before, we decided to give it a go. which also means a food post for the food bloggers, sarah kate and i :P
for other reviews, click here and here

the interior of this place is different from most japanese food oulets, its sort of like being in a bar. very dark and mysterious with long tables. the concept is kinda nice. very different.lucklily at that time was still kinda early so we sat at the long table without having to share with others.lol. there is also no conveyer belt, so everything must be ordered...
crissy trying to get an artistic shot of the place

the theme colour here...would be green

and the "groovy" menu which was very nice and colourful and quite informative. they have a variety of stuff to choose from...noodles, rice, and fancy sushi rolls and appetizers and also desserts. more like a fusion style menu.cos some stuff weren't very "japanese"

this is the complimentary salmon skin, which was their new product. hmmm... it was crispy but fishy! something i won't order >.<

ocha, which came in the lunch set i ordered. Choose a rice/noodle dish from the menu and pay for the dish, they will give complimentary miso soup and refillable green tea. quite worth it

the miso soup. honestly speaking, i'm no big fan of miso soup, so i just took a few sips and left it there. lol

some pretty fancy sushi rolls. hmm..can't remember the name. haha. just admire the photo :P
very nice presentation

another fancy sushi roll. this is the baby dragon. they are superbly creative when naming their food.
this is from the set lunch, a rice dish.which is spicy! oops, can't remember the name also. sorry if this food post is abit lacking of information!

this is my dish, also from the set lunch. it was either this or chicken katsu don. yeah, i know i'm boring :P
this is erm...a rice dish with grilled chicken and sprinkles. something different but somehow, it didn't really taste like japanese food to me. it was a HUGE serving, i could not even finish the rice. it was just so-so. the rice was slightly soggy-_-

evie's food. another rice dish with chicken and ginger. was also considering this dish but the ginger totally changed my mind (i really cannot stand ginger!) but when i tried it, it was actually quite good, chicken was nice and crispy and there was just a slight ginger taste.

and no girls outing would be complete without lots of photos! :D

group photo :) Sarah, Evelyn, Crissy, me and Yinwei. the stripy yellow background is so unique !

taken at the entrance lined with mirrors and fake bamboos.lol

and we were rather amused with yin wei's camera that had a smile detection feature. this photo of evelyn and i was taken with that:P

crissy, eve and I
overall, sushi groove is a "ok" place...abit pricey though, ambiance was good, service not bad and food was allright.at least we tried a new place!
