strawberry cream cake

this is the very first cake i made for my dearest boyfriend for his 21st birthday!
so glad it turned out ok cos i haven't made it before and i used a whole lot of strawberries!

time to get some shut-eye. was up and about the whole day. and i have a long day tomorow.

my sis was feeling generous so she bought the uhuhu cheesecake. 6 pieces. since it was still on promotion. one box (6 pieces) is rm25.

we chose our own flavour combination..

IMU ball 2008- part 3- SS-ness

my mum says i look like a bride in this photo -__- love the flowy skirt!!

this post is all about MY preparations.
so get ready for my vain photos, although my skills of taking my own photos are not very good, but nevermind =p

these are photos i took after coming home (about 1am plus) and undoing my hair-do...
most of my make up is still on thanks to my personal make up artist and her tools :)

and it seems strangely familiar. very similar to the one i took last year. (almost Exactly one year ago. april 21, 2007) also in the car!

ok. preparations.

3pm: get hair done at salon. was initially planning to go to hair station(like last year) but the person was not around!! =( so went to lee melinda to do it. took one and a half hours! plus 30 minutes waiting. did the same hair do but the stylist added cute pearls =) i like! costs RM 43

4.30pm: put on contacts (i'm getting more pro at this. haha) get dressed and get make up done.
make up artist..is my sister!!! she went for a couple of lessons so time to fully utilize her skills =)
chose shades of green to complement my maroon dress (from Diane Carrol, metrojaya)
and she stuck on swaroski crystals at the corner of my eyes!

5.45pm: left home and headed to KL. started raining super heavily when we were at midvalley. luckily we could use the smart tunnel. reached there at exactly 6.30PM and met up with james...

the ball ticket in shades of blue and green. notice one thing missing? the date. lol. mine was 087. not a lucky number cos i didn't win anything in the lucky draw =(

Parkroyal ballroom. honestly, the first time i noticed the hotel i was like........

but i was pleasantly surprised to see that the inside looks so much nicer than i expected it to be.

we had Chinese food. snapped a few photos of the first few dishes then completely abandoned the whole idea cos taking photos with friends seem to make so much more sense!

i didn't even try all the dishes. nevermind

the whole event started officially at 8 something. (so FAR off the stated time. 6.30) ahem. typical malaysian time.with the arrival of the VIPs. and the mandatory speech by prof ong.and the ball president, De jun=)

then dinner was served...

then we had to go snap loads and loads of photos with our friends....

the committee members have been working really hard to make this event a success. kudos to all of you!I didn't get involved in the committee but only helped out for fund raising events.


it was indeed a great and memorable night. everyone was dressed to their best and the company was great. entertaining performances, a very moving video

there was flashing of cameras going off every few seconds as everyone took the opportunity to catch the moment and keep it forever...

i shall write more (and post up SS photos in the next part :p) about my preparations!

i reached the hotel at 6.30. yesss i'm always punctual. kekeke. james met me at the lobby and took me for a quick tour around the ballroom. it was quite grand and nicely done. with ribbon-ed chairs, cute flower centerpieces and quirky handmade deco on the tables. the entrance of the ballroom was strewned with flower petals at the sides and helium balloons as well.

and so we proceed to the main activity for the day....
