as promised, a food review
ORIENTAL CRAVINGS
G359, PHASE 2, ONE UTAMA
Tel no: 03-77272581
like the name of the restaurant suggests, its menu comprises of oriental, traditional chinese food. They have fried rice, noodles, or dishes to be eaten with rice...and even light food: toast bread..
we ordered HONEY GLAZED CHICKEN WINGS. It tastes strongly of marmite with a hint of honey. Its deep fried and covered with the sticky honey-marmite sauce and sprinkled with sesame seeds. Delicious =) i loved the sauce.
this is their specialty, since they have the picture in front of their menu.
lotus root with petai. since we are not a big fan of petai, we ordered it without the petai..hmmm..how was this dish? i didn't really like it because it was practically laced with strips of ginger!my mum loved it so much. i was busy picking out the ginger slices. (yes, i'm a very picky eater) it was not bad. the lotus root was crunchy and nice.that's all. this dish would be fantastic for someone who loves ginger.
and the final dish. something weird and different. This is the first time I've had this dish. Beancurd with mushroom. my mum said it was "too-fu kang" or something like that. The gravy is very thick but it wasn't too starchy. Its like drinking soup. There are pieces of japanese white tofu, mushroom slices, meat and some vegetables. It was nice =) and healthy i think. very interesting dish =p
the price.
quite pricey, i must say. The four of us had 3 dishes, 3 bowls of rice and no drinks. the bill came up to 60 ringgit..
overall rating. can give a 6 to 6.5 la.
