porridge

kind of like "new broom sweeps clean"
so semangat to blog now =p
last sunday, went to find the GOMBAK hospital cos i had to go there for rotation on monday. another story all together...
then after that, went kaikai at berjaya times square, then for dinner (at 6pm??)
at some porridge store by the road side!!!!
its in KL, near HSBC bank and somewhere along the meeting point of klang river and gombak river, if I'm not mistaken. that's how KUALA LUMPUR got its name rite?
like i said, its along a row of shops, and many metro buses just stop along there, not very hygienic actually but things we go through to get good food.
and mind you, i don't fancy porridge. but i love the one here ^^ despite the noisy traffic and well, smelly fumes. its actually not that bad..
apparently that shop was already around way before my mum got married. that is like more than 20 years back. and my mum used to eat there also..
and i found out the reason why i enjoy shopping and going out so much. its actually a tradition my mum said when she was younger, her parents (my grandparents) will take the whole family out during weekends/friday night to walk around KL, and sometimes SUNGAI WANG (the only shopping mall around those days)
so i guess i was brought up. to love shopping! cos i remember going for outings on friday nights ever since..well...a long time. (except if there is a test coming up or any other circumstances, lah)

porridge..kinda cute, the way they serve it.for the fish porridge, there is this hot steaming bowl of porridge, and a plate of raw extremely thinly sliced fish with ginger and parsley. you have to pour the fish and all in to the porridge to let it cook. i was quite amused the first time i had it =P
the porridge is quite watery but its an excellent consistency and the it tastes good also. the chicken drumstick is good also. cooked to perfection. three of us will eat four bowls.but its not very filling. and halfway through, I'll start sweating alot. don't fancy that part though....

the stall by the road side.... i noticed five big tongs of porridge, and it will usually be sold out by 7pm plus..that's how good it is =)
