mui gave it to me today during lecture and that made me happier
cos at first i was sulking cos my last PBL will be on monday. 2 days before exam..
*sulk sulk*

stuffs

uni is starting again on monday...
back to studying. and studying. and club meetings and welcoming parties and stuff.
hari raya holidays just came and left with a blink of an eye...
so this would be the last post until...well, after the reproductive assessment test.

went out for another date with my darling. this time to 1 utama. to get a birthday gift, watch a movie and eat.(routine already)
we watched "i now pronounce you Chuck&Larry"
it was hilarious. especially the "its a circle. it goes round and round. it has no beginning or ending" part. LOL.

a photo inside the cinema
(my face so shiny >.<)
and then we went to try out this new burger joint. CARL'S jr.
huge burgers with yummy fillings. its really really huge. i wanted to try the portabello mushroom burger but it was with beef. but i don't really fancy beef. so i went for the crispy chicken. and james tried the bbq chicken. both were good. and so so very filling...

the logo. with the cute little star =)

dear and the french fries =p

today was a super-tiring and fun day.
went to phing phing's 21st birthday party at sunway lagoon.
its been ages since i last went there.
didn't take many photos, but will post up some soon.
*thanks phing, it was really nice of you to invite us. i had lots of FUN! =)*

And then for dinner, my mum, sister and i decided to try out this new place called lisa spaghetti cos we read a write up on today's STAR newspaper. besides its really near our house...

LISA SPAGHETTI
38 JALAN SS15/8
SUBANG JAYA
(the row of shop houses just opposite Taylors college)

colourful no frills interior. glass and plastic tables and colourful chairs

when we went there it was really crowded. luckily there was a table for three.
and oh my. it really tests your patience.
maybe its because its a weekend and there are soooo many people or maybe they are still in the process of getting things to run smoothly..but we waited almost 45 minutes for the food! and you know, if you wait for a long time, you would expect the food to be "worth the wait"

luckily it was =)

their signature dish. the shop is named after this.
normal spaghetti but it tasted really good. with mince chicken and mushroom. its a secret recipe handed down apparently.
they also have curry spaghetti, sausage, stew and fried spaghetti, and even spaghetti in mushroom soup!

this is the hotplate princess. served in a hotplate, with sausages, mixed vege and a piece of black pepper chicken. not bad except the chicken was not well marinated...
i like the cute button mushroom on top. hehe

this is the butter fried rice. something special =)
not really buttery but the taste is something different. its not too oily and the rice is nice and fluffy. must must try. it also comes with black pepper chicken, curry chicken etc.

and of course.
desert!
fried ice cream. crispy and hot on the outside. cold and creamy on the inside.
combination of two opposite texture and temperature. but somehow it just works out.

should give this place a try.
but be prepared to wait!
prices are reasonable. range from 4 ringgit to 9 ringgit for the main meal.
fried ice cream is 2.50.
overall rating: food-8
service-um....4

something i found on the net.
isn't the bunny so adorable??
time to sleep now.
till my next post...toodles!

kajang satay

on the last day of uni before the raya holidays, we went to KAJANG! Jane's place for a quick tour and of course yummy satay...
the last time we went there was in college, cos it was "on the way"
and i rmbr that day cos i had my IMU entrance interview the very next day and was anxious to get home...

anyway..we reached there, restaurant Malaysia or something like that..it was raining..
and we were really hungry.(the last thing i ate was pasta at 12pm)
so Jane (miss tourist guide) ordered all the kind of satay you can think of (chicken, mutton, beef, and get this...FISH satay) it was really nice..but i only ate the chicken and fish ones. the sauce was fantastic =)
and then guess who ate the most satay? *ahem* very controversial so it shall not be reveled. HAHAHA

this is the restaurant....

the yummy satay, super yummy peanut sauce

the hailam mee. not bad. not cannot compare to the one in bagan hailam =p

the fried rice. half-finished. i had to stop everyone from eating so i can snap a picture. wasn't fast enough...

the Singapore fried mihun. not bad la.

and the coconut episode. argh~

beeling looks like an angel with that bright"halo". lol

then we walked around town, went to the mall with lots of shoe shops...and then to this big huge bookshop with an extensive stock of stationary. seriously..they have everything...

then jane drove us around kajang, showed us her high school and the we went to her house...

thanks jane for being a wonderful host/ tour guide =)
but we still can't rmbr the way there. too complicated >.<

Sunday 14 October 2007

a date. finally =)

went out with my darling today.
to watch a movie
eat
and hunt for presents

while waiting for him in the car, i became vain for a few seconds, and took my own photo. LOL. hmm my cheeks look abit TOO pink.

went to midvalley...
we watched lust.caution.
arghhh cannot remember the malay subtitle, but it was funny. LOL
The movie was almost 2 hours 30 minutes.
very historical and political. and *ahem* alot of parts were cut.
it was okay..

before that we had lunch at LA MANILLA.
wanted to eat
1. little penang kafe, since James has never tried it. but it wasn't open =(
2. Madame Kwan. the queue was SUPER LONG. sigh
3. ZEN, but then after we looked at the menu...too limited choice.

so in the end we decided on LA MANILLA. its on the top most floor (where the cinema is) since James has never tried it before and i haven't been there since...ages ago..
we were greedy pigs =p so we ordered 3 dishes...

first up was the assam laksa. not bad. but i have tasted better.

ooo. this is something to shout about.
MUSHROOM SOUP!!!!
real mushroom soup. with mushroom chunks, potatoes and chicken pieces. served in a huge hollow bread. YUMMY.
f.y.i i love mushroom =)

this is the Thai chicken with rice. quite nice =)
deep fried chicken with Thai chili sauce. something different...

prices are reasonable. about rm9-15 per main meal. they also have cakes and brownies but too full to try.

we did sort of got an idea what to buy for the birthday pressie but they ran out of stack. so have to go to One Utama to get it. hopefully got la *crosses fingers*

Monday and Tuesday is study time...
Really hope i can get some studying done la at least...

O&S Restaurant in Paramount Garden

food review!!

O&S RESTAURANT
JALAN 20/16A
PARAMOUNT GARDEN
PETALING JAYA
(next to CALTEX petrol station and on the same row as ALFA college)

This placed is ALWAYS packed on weekends and during peak hours.
There will be people standing around waiting for others to finish so that they can grab the seats. so obviously, they have very good food =)

My family and I went there last Sunday, and lucky for us, we got a seat as soon as we reached :)
We would usually order a few dishes than "rotate" it so that everyone can eat everything. so its better go to in a big group..
there are lots to choose from..and almost all the food are good..

they have on of the best assam laksa I've ever tasted. sour and spicy with the right proportions, with generous chunks of fish and yummy noodles.mmmmm
we usually order it without all the toppings (mint leaves, cucumber, onions and pineapples) cos no one will eat them anyway...
the same stall also has curry laksa, which is really rich and served with tau-fu-pok and chicken slices

this is something you must order. the chee cheong fun. you can choose either sweet sauce, curry or special rojak sauce. i would recommend the rojak sauce. its really good and something special =)

this is the popiah. not bad also

the pork noodle. nice also

assorted young tau foo. the queue is very long...

there is also a kuih-kuih stall. and i always buy the onde-onde. its very yummy. the filling (gula melaka) squirts out when you bite into it. so the best way to eat it is to put everything into your mouth..
the angku-kuih is nice too

overall rating of 9/10 =)
(i just can't get enough of their assam laska..)
cheap (hawker food price (RM3-5) ) and generally fast service (once you get a seat)

after lecture, we went there and arrived aroung 8 plus..
it was a sort of clubbing place, i don't know cos a hardly ever go to that area at nigh. so this MOJO was a two story place, and the party was at the first floor. after we got there, saying hi to everyone, we started taking photos (favorite pastime)

the girls posing =)

then more photo taking..
we even made up "categories" like from SAM, from penang etc. LOL

one with beeling and jane. my two best girlfriends =)

with the lovely b-pharm girls...the prizes/souvenir committee members

G13 class of 2005 now in IMU =)

potential ANTM contestents. haha.

people "from penang" including being half-penangite, been to penang and also liking penang food. LOL

me and james :)

the guys (and han ying)
took photos with the rest of the committee members...

from top (clockwise) jack, patrick, million and florence =)

with hung jen, ka keat, lishun and prasad..

Yup, as i said in my previous post, i did learn may things from being in the commitee (the head of prizes/souvenir department)
I remeber the day we attended the meeting, and i actually voluteered for the post. i didn't think that it will involve so much of work. at times i regret taking it up but right now, i'm so proud because i did my part contributing to the community.its a great feeling =)
I know how much planning it takes to make an event successful.
I know how important team-work and co-operation is.
and i learn how to trust others but still it doesn't hurt to check and double check again. never assume anything!
i read from a story book that if you "assume"..you will be making an ass out of u and me ass+u+me. get it? and ka keat also agrees with me. hehe =p
and also to ask for help when you need it. and not to panick when everything is not going the way you expect it to be. there will always be a solution (most of the time)
and always have faith. our event was really successful, we surpassed our target by far =) even if there are major and minor hiccups, that is part and parcel of everything right?
and also people are NICE.
during the prize giving, there was a mix up of medals. and this lady from women's open got a high school medal instead. she asked if i could change it for her and left the medal with me. unfortunately, i couldn't get the data of the high school girl. so i had no choice but to return it to her. I was so afriad that she might scold me or something. but when i called her, she was really nice about it and said that she didn't mind coming to IMU to collect it. then later she messged me saying that "its ok and that we learn from our mistakes and that we did an amazing job to raise funds for charity and that she will be looking forward to our next charity run"
how sweet is that?
i felt really bad about the mix-up. but after her msg, i feel so much better.
see? people are nice. and sometimes i worry too much!

all in all, being part of the IMU charity run/carnival committee was a great experience =)
but no more organizing committees for me for a very very long time. seriously.

Monday 8 October 2007

just got the photos of IMU CHARITY RUN/CARNIVAL 2007 dinner at MOJO.
will be writing a long blog with many many photos soon, the weekend probably. no time now =(
tomorrow is going to be a long day

then 2 hours of lecture..
one pathology lecture with 12 pages of notes....

wore pink today =)

and wearing pink tomorrow

counting down the days to raya holidays =)
so i can spend quality time with you
and also with my books and notes. goes without the saying...

puppies for adoption

A message from one of my friends...

A stray dog came and gave birth to a
litter of puppies in my back yard last
month.
SO.. I'm now the proud owner of six
dogs =.=" go figure..

There are five puppies, all female,
ALL VERY CUTE =P They are currently 4
weeks old. We'll prolly keep them for
a few more weeks till they can be
independent enough to be separated
from their mother.

Anybody interested in adopting a
puppy, please message me in friendster
or if you know my handphone number,
feel free to call or sms me too.

Pls help!! We asked the SPCA and PAWS,
and the conditions there are quite
pathetic, and the puppies will most
prolly get put to sleep anyway. So
we're trying to avoid sending them
there. If in 2 or 3 weeks there are no
takers we'll have no choice but to do
that.

i wish i could adopt one but i have 4 bunnies at home and besides my mum will go berserk.
so if anyone is intrested, just leave a comment of contact me...
it will be great if these puppies get a new home..

my favorite t-shirt

the front says...

and the back...

don't know if its true! haha =P
so syiok sendiri and totally out of no where.
besides someone has already "got" me :)

apparently next week is breast cancer awareness week and someone suggested we wear PINK for the whole week. if its BLACK then no problem for me..I've actually worn black to uni for one whole week. i will try though..haha
