yoga lesson and food updates =)

one achievement.
i signed up for yoga classes, in les studio in PJ.
went for a trial lesson on Sunday-yogilates-yoga and pilates
the instructor taught the class on poses that concentrates on the abdomen and back.
and as usual, now my abdomen and back and shoulders are aching. ouch. and yes, it hurts to laugh. again.
wonder how many more lessons i have to take before not having to suffer the day after. sigh.
oh, i actually went jogging last week. BIG accomplishment. for me at least.

haven't been to the Thai restaurant yet. the other day, it was raining and the traffic was really bad. so we just post phoned it to next week.
oh, more food update.

a quaint nicely decorated restaurant serving delicious authentic home cooked nyona food.
TAIPING LANG. in puchong, opposite IOI mall.
let me tempt you with these pictures =p

http://taipinglang.com/home/Welcome.html
do visit this website for more info- location, opening hours, menu ect.

once you enter, its like going back to the past. with Chinese oldies playing in the background (much to the delight of my mum) and old kitchen utensils hanging at the wall and many old stuff that we don't usually use today.gives a nostalgic feeling, to the older generation...
there are two sections that you can choose like most eating places. either to dine within the comforts of the air conditioning or the dine outside..

ok. coming to the main part. the food
we usually have our normal dishes that we order everytime we dine here.

this is ba kian..or something like that. its a meat roll which is deep fried. really yummy and full of flavour. goes well with sambal.

this is sambal hae bi-- prawn sambal, served with cucumber, cabbage and lady's fingers.not very spicy, just enough to tickle your taste buds =) my mum's, sister's and my darling's favourite...

this is bangkuang cha shredded turnip with squid and mushroom. served with lettuce. typical nyonya food...a good way of making me eat vegetables. heheh
they have a couple more dishes, like omelet with pickled radish, asam fish, tofu and other stuff...but we are not very adventurous.
good news for "rice-tongs" and "chilli lovers"--rice & sambal is free flow!!!!
and one thing i like about this place is that the sertvings are not too big, allowing us to enjoy a variety of dishes without feeling stuffed at the end of the meal. a real plus point =)
and on weekends they will have special dishes, like the last time we went, they had sambal fish, assam prawns and fried chicken on their menu.
drinks...their specialty is this leong cha drink with a really long name, cannot remember..its like cincau, with sweet basil seeds.
and they have tong yuen , small colourful glutinous rice balls in ginger-pandan syrup. the cutest thing is that thry seve it in those mugs used to serve coffee!!! also on their menu is bubur cha cha and ABC.
wide variety, good service (the food arrives less than 10 minutes) and very resonable prices. (meal for four- five dishes, two drinks and one tong yuen- only RM 44!!)

turning twenty

a year older. a year wiser perhaps?
no more a teen, and on the next birthday I'll be TWENTY-ONE.
still, that does not stop me from having my childish moments one-in-awhile =p
waited until midnight, Alex was the first one to call me at the stroke of midnight to wish me. then many sweet birthday messages from my dear friends.
thank you remembering and for all the wishes. i appreciate them a lot!!!
the next morning, Evelyn came to visit me. chat with her for a long time while eating sushi.^^
and James called me to wish me. was waiting for his call for so long!
then a delivery guy came, with a gorgeous bouquet of a dozen pink roses! my heart just melted. wishing he could be here on my special day.

well, going for dinner with my family tonight. to some thai restaurant in ampang. more updates soon!

last Friday and erm...the very next day, my arms and thighs were aching!!! it was
so pain, it even hurts to laugh!!!gosh, I'm so very NOT FIT!!! the yoga instructor
taught the class sun salutation, lots of bending, strecting. and it
look pretty passive and simple, but at the end of the lesson, actually even
halfway i was alreday sweating like crazy!!! it was fun, and definitely a good
workout. would be better without the body aches. sighhhh. better start from the
very very basics though.

2. jogging. erm...very embarrasing.
so far i have been jogging......once
*blush blush*same thing happen during my sem 1 holiday.
let not history repeat itself...
keep finding excuses NOT to go. but i have to go *wails* where did all my
willpower go to????

the temptations of SPOILERS!!! arghhhh~so typical of me >.<
finished reading a book by Cecelia ahern, ps, i love you.
really wonderful book. made me smile, made me cry.
ready to digest more storybooks. heheh

10.being a couch potato and catching up on all my favourite tv series. and such a

banana butter cake

here is a step by step guide to baking a yummy butter banana cake

ingredients:
6 ounce Castor sugar
5 ounce butter
8 ounce flour
4 eggs
3 tablespoon orange juice
1 cup mashed banana (preferably dali bananas, must be ripe)
3/4 teaspoon sodium bicarbonate

method:
1. sieve the flour and sodium bicarbonate
2. separate the egg white and the egg yolk
3. whisk egg white until stiff

4. in a separate bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy, then add in egg yolk one at a time.

5. add in the mashed bananas and continue to beat for a while then fold* in the egg white, then the flour.lastly add the orange juice.

the batter should be in "dropping" consistency.pour batter in a lined 8 inch square tin.

6. preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius and bake for one hour.
*fold means mixing in with a spatula, and not beating with a mixer. be gentle =)

fresh from the oven, that's when it taste the BEST.
my mum says enjoying it with a cup of coffee is simply delightful, but i don't fancy coffee...unless its during the exam period..which i don't consume much also anyway. just when i am desperate...

enjoy!!

friday the 13th

results day.
the day that all of us were dreading
the day that all of us were looking forward to

it was so horrifyingly nerve-wrecking
and i am so not the person who can keep cool calm and collected in these kind of situation >.<

met up with James for lunch. and we were both so nervous, letting out one big sigh after another.

then went to pack the registration forms for the upcoming charity run. beeling came to help us too. took our mind off things for awhile. i kept on glancing at my watch.
and when we were done we just sat at the cafeteria, and ordered loads of comfort food like french fries, and waffles with chocolate filling, and chocolate shaved ice. so we ate and ate...

ten minutes before 5pm we went up to the mph..saw many batchmates who were just as nervous..then the staff from AAD came with stacks of results..and everyone rushed in. was waiting in line for my results. so totally nerve wrecking.
got it and went out to tear it. my hand was practically shaking O.o

was very very happy with my results. didn't really expect much. was hoping for the best but expecting the worst. gald my close buddies all made it through =)

and now..the holidays are finally here. things to do (or PLAN to do)
1. go and learn yoga
2. go jogging (to keep fit & lose weight =p)
3. do my elective
4. do scrapbooking
5. do crosstiching
6. study for sem 4 (kiasu-ness again)
7. meet up with my high school buddies, some whom i've not seen for ages despite living 5 minutes away...
8. SHOPPING!!! (have started doing that alredy)
9. indulge in reading storybooks (something that i've not been doing for a pretty long time, and with harry potter7 coming out..yipee!!)
10. being a couch potato
11. start cooking and baking again. and also online baking lesson on my blog, so look out for that=)

Monday 9 July 2007

weird wonderful day

spent a whole day with my darling boyfriend yesterday. from 9.30am till 7.30pm.
after not seeing much of each other throughout the 5 weeks study break.
we wore our matching t-shirts for the first time. mine was a gift from my close buddies, and so happen i was a matching one few months back, and persuaded James to buy it.
started the day off with breakfast with my family in OUG. had pan-mee for breakfast. and as usual, it was super packed (it was a Sunday, Sunday morning market. go figure...)
then we went to mid valley. wanted to catch a movie-transformers, but the queue was super long. we queued up anyway and then they announced that tickets for 12pm were SOLD OUT. arghhh.
so we ended up walking aimlessly around mid valley, till about 1.30pm.
then we went to the bukit jalil indoor stadium to watch the national band competition.
it started to rain really heavily, and we had to run in the rain.
kind of romantic actually, holding hands and sprinting across the rain with the wind blowing and all.
well, minus the soggy shoes and getting wet part. and having muscle aches now. sigh. shows how not fit i am.
and i was a bit apprehensive about watching the band competition, but i enjoyed it alot. especially if you have a boyfriend who was a band member, and can provide you with lots of information. i kept on asking him a million questions. heheh.
many teams were pretty impressive, especially the Sultan Aminah (or smtg like that) ALL GIRLS SCHOOL team. who naturally won FIRST PLACE. woohoo~~~ GIRL POWER!!!!!
then we had dinner and the usual place-secret recipe, before i headed back home.
such a lovely lovely day =)

whisker-less

n.g.h says "my whiskers came off. now i am whisker-less"

no OSCE resit. HIP HIP HURRAH!

can now arrange all my files, notes, books, etc.

and enjoy without feeling guilty.

until exam results are out.

N.G.H

okay.
still want to know what N.G.H stands for.
Naughty. Girl. Handle
think its weird?
there is a story behind it
naughty girl (or N.G) is actually one of my pet rabbits, who is naturally...naughty. but not anymore. she is more like a angel now. n.g..angel...sounds quite similar doesn't it?
so we decided to name the rabbit/ soft toy/ bag N.G.H. cos it looks like n.g. and with a handle.
hahaha
I've really gone nuts

baking@cooking lesson no. 2

baked pasta. my "specialty". and i am sharing my secret =)

ingredients:
pasta (spiral shaped)
ready made spaghetti sauce (can actually prepare yourself)
sausages (sliced)
meatballs (sliced)
frozen mixed vegetable
button mushroom (sliced)
one potato (cut into cubes and boil till semi-soft)
oil
garlic
cheddar cheese
mozzarella cheese (for topping) grated

first boil water and cook the pasta (follow instructions on packet)
heat oil and fry garlic till fragrant
add sausages, meat ball, mushroom.
add spaghetti sauce, mixed vege and potatoes.
add cheddar cheese. let it melt.
bring to a boil

the pasta, pasta sauce and mozzarella cheese and the baking tin

next, to assemble.
get a baking tin/loaf.
put a layer of pasta. top up with a layer of sauce.
continue until you reach the top of the tin. then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
bake the pasta about ten minutes at 180 degrees Celsius or until the cheese melts.

simple as that =)

can't give proper measurements, cos i just roughly estimate. depends on how many people eating.

enjoy!!!

in suspense...

EOS 3 was supposed to be over today
due to some unforeseen circumstances...
the whole batch is waiting in suspense. for just one major major decision.
its SUPPOSED to be OVER today
no more feeling guilty about watching TV, lazing around, hanging out with friends.
but nooooo....
sigh.
what can we do. cannot change anything. just accept whatever comes.....

and continue blogging...
